Captain Marvel Review

Samuel L. Jackson and Brie Larson in Captain Marvel (2019)

Finally, Captain Marvel has hit theaters and we finally know why she is so important to the Avengers. Actually, this movie answered a lot of questions that we knew we had and some that we didn’t know that we had.

We all know that Shield was started to help protect the Earth, but Shield didn’t know about threats from space. They thought they would be fighting Earth terrorists, not space aliens until Captain Marvel came to Earth.

This is truly her back story and the back story of Shield and Nick Fury. We learn a lot. I will say this, you have to pay attention to everything. 1st thing, you have to watch the opening. You know, Marvel usually show an animation of the Marvel characters as the words Marvel Studios come on the screen, this time it’s changed and you will cheer.

Also, pay close attention to the cat. It might not seem important, but it is. And really watch Carol Danvers ‘ flashbacks which gives you a lot of clues about who she is. This movie is for anyone who was a teenager or an adult in the ’90’s. You’ll laugh at the AOL reverences, dial-up internet, Radio Shack, Blockbuster and the music. The soundtrack is really good.

Oh, and as always, stay until the end of the credits for 2 bonus scenes. Both will help you when you go see Avengers: End Game next month.

Overall, Captain Marvel was a good movie. It wasn’t great or life changing, but it was a fun movie. Go see it on the big screen to get the true feel of it, but you don’t have to pay full price. Matinee or $5 Tuesday is enough to pay to see this movie. It is a must see before you see Avengers: End Game.
