Just by looking at the trailer, you don’t know really what to expect unless you’ve read the book by Ransom Riggs. I have to admit, I never heard of the book until I saw the trailer for the movie. Overall the movie was perfectly cast and directed. The script was okay. I got thrown off a couple of times so, you have to pay attention to what’s happening.

Let’s talk about the director, Tim Burton. No one else could have made this movie but him. His quirkiness was PREFECT for this movie. If anyone else would have done it, the movie would have fallen flat. He has an eye that no one else has!

Samuel L. Jackson was funny in this movie and just about stole it from the kids. Even with the white hair and white eyes, his personality came shining throw. You loved to hate him in this movie.

Overall, this movie was very interesting. I say interesting in a good way. You will laugh, get a little scared, be little disgusted then you will laugh again. Totally worth seeing! I wouldn’t take a child under 10 or 12 to see it and if they get scared easy then take them during the day.
Do you have to see it in theaters? No, but seeing it on the big screen is cool but seeing it on DVD is going to be really good too so that you can rewind if you get lost, which I did but might have been because people were talking. LOL I’m giving this movie a strong B.
